Definition of Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website requests to store on the visitor’s computer and contains a certain amount of information and a specific timestamp.

The browser saves the information in a special place on your computer and returns the information in the cookie to the website visited with each request for pages/images from the website.

Two Types of Cookies

Cookies on this website are used to improve user experience and optimize the website. There are two types of cookies:

One type, called a permanent cookie, saves a file that remains on the visitor’s computer. It is used, for example, to customize a website according to the visitor’s preferences, choices, and interests, as well as for statistical tracking.

The other type is called a session cookie. During the time a visitor is on a webpage, it is temporarily stored in the visitor’s computer memory. Session cookies disappear when you close your browser.

Both session cookies and permanent cookies are used on our website. Regardless of the type of cookie used on this website, no personal information about the visitor (such as email address or name) is stored.

Brief Overview of the Electronic Communications Act

According to the Electronic Communications Act SFS 2003:389, which came into force on July 25, 2003, and was amended on July 1, 2011, all visitors to a website with cookies should receive information about whether the website contains cookies or not (almost all websites use some form of cookies and/or services such as web statistics systems that, in turn, use cookies) and, if so, the purpose of using cookies.

Companies must also inform about how cookies can be avoided, and the visitor should also be given the opportunity to consent to the use of cookies, i.e., be placed on the visitor’s computer.

In the browser, the user can set whether to avoid cookies (see more below). There are no established rules regarding how consent should be handled in the new law. On this website, we interpret the law so that consent to cookies is given through the browser’s settings and/or other tools for managing cookies.

Handling of Cookies

If you do not accept the use of cookies, you can disable cookies via your browser’s security settings. You can also set the browser to receive a warning every time the website tries to place a cookie on your computer. Previously stored cookies can also be deleted through the browser. However, by disabling cookies, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to make any purchases on our website.

See the browser’s help pages for more information on how to view which cookies are stored in your browser, how to delete them, and how to make settings for whether cookies should be accepted or not.

The setup of cookies used on a website varies. Also note that there may be cookies tied only to part of the website and/or linked to some form of service on the website.

If there are any inaccuracies or questions regarding the cookies used on this website, please feel free to contact us via our contact page.
